Pornography
Pornography is rampant on the internet. But if you're caught and convicted of downloading child pornography, or transmitting it to others, you're facing federal charges, stiff penalties, and a lifetime of registration as a sex offender. Contact my office for a free consultation.
Juvenile Sex Crime
Many attorneys don't handle juvenile crime cases. I do. Sex Offender Registration
If you've been convicted of certain sex offenses, you will be required to register as a sex offender (section 290 of the Penal Code) whenever you change addresses. You must also register within 5 days of your birthday every year. Many people forget this.
If you forgot or you refused to register with the local authorities and you were convicted of a felony sex offense, you are now facing another felony charge. If you were convicted of a misdemeanor offense, your first failure to register results in a misdemeanor but additional convictions for violating the registration law will be felony offenses.
In certain circumstances, you may be eligible to request that you be relieved of the duty to register as a sex offender. For more information, contact our office or visit Removal from California's Sex Offender Registry.
If you've run into a sex offender registration problem, contact my office and let's see what we can do to resolve it before you find yourself facing another felony charge.
